The 2024 NBL Finals have so far had 3 games and the UCU Lady Canons, who were the underdogs, lead the series 2:1.

The games 1, 2 and 3 have all been very different with multiple factors playing major roles in the eventual outcomes.

For example, UCU had 27 more rebounds than JKL in game 2 but in game 3, JKL had 22 more than UCU.

A lot of factors are at play but in this article, we take a look at some of the top performing players in the finals so far.

UCU Lady Canons

Tracy Namugosa was very solid for the Lady Canons in games 1 and 2. She scored big baskets and in game 1, she got 2 crucial steals in the final 2 minutes and also forced a jump ball that gave them possession.

She averages 12.67 points, 4.67 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals

Shakirah Nanvubya was unstoppable in game 1, dominating the JKL Lady Dolphins offensively. She finished with 21 points, 2 rebounds and 8 assists in that game.

She averages 13.67 points, 5 rebounds, 4.67 assists, 2 steals in the finals.

Despite playing just 18 minutes due to foul trouble in game 1, Bridget Aber showed what she’s capable of in game 2 as she registered 19 rebounds and 12 points, all from offensive rebounds.

She averages 6 points, 11.67 assists, 1.33 steals and the Lady Canons need her to play huge minutes and dominate.

Hajara Najjuko has done her job when it comes to shooting the basketball. She averages 10 points, 4.67 rebounds 1.33 assists.

JKL Lady Dolphins

Gazelles Captain Jane Asinde lead the way in points scored and she has scored double-digits in all the 3 games.

In game 2, she struggled a bit with 4/17, 23% FG  , but she responded in game 3 with a big 17 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists double-double.

She averages 15.33 points, 8 rebounds, 4.67 assists, 2 steals

Hope Akello is one of 3 players to have registered a double-double but she is the only player that averages a double-double.

She was the first player in the playoffs to have 15+ points and 15+ rebounds in a game as the JKL Lady Dolphins won game 3.

She averages 12.67 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals.

Brenda Ekone led the scoring in game 2 with 23 points and 21 of those came in the first half.

She struggled in game 3 as she scored just 4 points and given that she’s the league’s  top scorer, the Lady Dolphins need her offensive input a lot.

She averages 13.33 points, 2 rebounds, 3 steals.

Special shoutouts

Agatha Kamwada helped the JKL Lady Dolphins in game 3 as she scored 14 points, 4/6 3-point and 3 assists.

Shillah Lamunu stepped up huge for UCU in game 1 and she was able to partially fill the void left by Aber and Sylivia Nantongo.  She had 11 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block in 19:26 minutes
