Day One of Gulu 7s had multiple shock results in both men and women and more shock results are expected on day 2.

The Avengers who have won the previous 2 circuits hadn’t their second loss in the 7s season so far after a 17:19 loss to the Thunderbirds.

However, they won their opening game 34:00 against Lira Matrix and are still top of the table.

The Avengers are without the Rugby Lady Cranes sevens Captain, Peace Lekuru and another star, Maimuna Nassozi who traveled to South Africa for the Willem 7s.

They remain with other top players like Sarah Kirabo, Juliet Nandawula, Christine Akello and Fazirah Namukwaya who they have to rely on heavily this time around.

The Thunderbirds also lost to the She Wolves 12:17 in game one and as things stand, the teams that moves on to the semifinals shall be decided in the final game.

The Black Pearls who also lack the services of Grace Auma, Lydia Namabiro and Ritta Nadunga took care of business with dominant 36-0 and 24-5 victories against Nile Leopardess and Nile Rapids respectively.
