The 2024 FIBA U18 African Championship came to a conclusion on Saturday 14th September with Mali emerging victorious after defeating Cameroon 51-60 in the finals.

The Junior Silverbacks who had sparked a lot of hope after putting up a solid performance in the Zone V qualifiers did not win any game but there was a lot of promise that the youngsters showed.

Group Stages

Uganda 73-89 Angola

Uganda 50-73 Egypt

Uganda 61-72 Nigeria

During the group stages, Uganda lost all the games but in the final game against Nigeria, Uganda played ferociously coming from down 25 to bring it within 6 in the final 5 minutes.

However, Nigeria weather the storm and secure the victory.

Classification Games

Uganda 66-77 Ivory Coast

Uganda 54-61 Zambia

Against Ivory Coast, Uganda led the game 34-31 but Ivory Coast blew them out 30-15 in the third quarter and eventually won the game.

It was a similar situation in the final game against Zambia as they led by 2 points ahead of the final quarter.

Zambia regrouped and took the fourth quarter 16-7 and it took home a 7-point victory.

Mukisa Mubiru Nkugwa 17.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 2.8 steals

Tejan Joel Rugette 8.4 Points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.6 steals

Brighton Galiwango 9.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.4 steals
