It was an exciting and jovial day on Sunday 10th November as Seeta High defeated Legends and qualified for their first playoffs.

Ahead of Sunday, Seeta needed to register a victory and hope that Kibuli S.S lose to Makerere Sparks and looks like God answered their prayers.

Seeta High managed to secure a 33-21 victory and that was enough for them to qualify for the playoffs.

The game was very low-scoring but in the second quarter, Seeta’s offense was good.

They outscored Legends by 12 points in the second quarter and that helped them secure a result in the end.

Lillian Nalugya was the team’s star performer with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists.

How did Seeta get their?

After the first round, Seeta had only  one win (against JT Junior Lady Jaguars) but getting a walkover victory against Buddo S.S helped them a lot.

They also managed to complete the double against JT Junior Lady Jaguars and those 2 wins were very key for them.

The moment they realized they had a chance was after their shock victory (49-47) against Our Savior Banyabo.

This result was very big for them and it showed progress both individually and as a team.

Additionally, it opened a slight window for them to make the playoffs and they managed to squeeze through it and come out on the other side.

Seeta finished the season with a  6-14 record and 24 points.

However, they were lucky that some pieces fell into place for them and they managed to make it through.

Buddo S.S and Kibuli S.S both have 8 wins but they gave away 4 walkovers each and that put them in a precarious position.

Had Kibuli won their game against Makerere and Seeta lost to Legends, both teams would have been tied on points but Kibuli would have been ahead of Seeta since they owned the tiebreaker.

Seeta High will take on Nkumba Lady Marines in the quarter-finals and game one is expected to be on Saturday 23rd November at YMCA.
