The City Oilers blew a 22-point lead to fall to Urunani 75-78 in a game that was decided in overtime.

The 2 teams aimed at getting the win and topping Group B, but City Oilers started like they meant business.

They led the game 41-26 at halftime and they looked like they were just getting started.

Petty Parrish scored 5/7 from the 3-point line in the second quarter alone while Urunani had just 2/18 in the entire first half.

The Oilers started the third quarter very well with a 9-2 run to take a 22-point lead but everything started crumbling from there onwards.

The Oilers made a 10-0 run to make it 12-point game and they kept chipping away at the deficit.

By the end of the quarter, it was a 10-point game, 60-50 but Urunani had the momentum.

There was a lot of drama in the fourth quarter.

Urunani made an 11-0 run to take the lead with 41 seconds left for the first time since the first quarter.

Petty Parrish was then fouled and had a chance to give the Oilers the lead from the free-throw line but he missed his second attempt and the game went into overtime 67-67.

It was very tight in overtime. Petty Parrish made a huge triple to give the Oilers the lead, but Urunani closed with a 4-0 to win the game 78-75.

Talking points

The Bench for City Oilers scored just 12 points compared to 21 for Urunani.

The Oilers bench had 1 total of 16 attempts from the field which is less than what Petty Parrish had (17)

Work needs to be done and the bench will have to come up big in the next game.

Efficiency for the City Oilers was very different in the 2 halves.

Oilers had 16/43, 37% FG in the first half while they had 6/27, 35% in the second half.

The number of attempts for the Oilers reduced with each passing quarter, from 23 to 20 to 16 and finally 11 and this is an area they need to address.

City Oilers finish as number 2 in the group and will face Nairobi City Thunder in the semifinals.
