The Inaugural Mountain Dew UG 3×3 Series came to a conclusion on Saturday 7th with the Grand Finale happening at the Lugogo Hockey Grounds.

20 teams, 12 men’s and 8 women’s competed for the Grand Prize and there were a lot of shock results, tension and entertainment as the upcoming stars took the center stage.

The biggest winners of the day were St Noa students who defeated team 3-peat that consisted of 3 of the 4 players that represented Uganda at the recent FIBA 3×3 Africa Cup in Madagascar.

St Noa defeated 3-peat 14-11 in their final group game and they rocked them to sleep in the final with a 16-11 victory.

Cole World, the champions in Mukono, were the winners in the Men’s category after edging VBL, 15-13 in the Finals.

The path to the finals for Cole World was very tough as they won in overtime 13-12 against Effort Hoopers in the quarter finals and once again won by a point, 11-10 against Grim Reapers in the semi-finals.

VBL washed Dem Boys, 18-8 in the quarterfinals and they narrowly survived against Amus in the semifinals.

William Dombai needed 1 point to win the game for Amus but he missed 2 free throws and Marvin Jesse Okurut punished him with a 2-point shot to send VBL to the finals.

The winning teams each walked away with 2 million Uganda Shillings while the Runners-up bagged 1 million.

All winners of the different individual awards were given shs 100,000 plus a trophy.
