Nkumba Lady Marines returned to the National Basketball League (NBL) for the 2025 season after defeating Amazon Rhinos 4-1 in the Semi-Finals series.

After a bad display in game 2 which  the Rhinos won 66-65 and tied the series, the Lady Marines won the next 2 and sealed the deal.

In game 2, Nkumba won the game 75-56 but it was their third quarter brilliance that helped them.

They outscored Amazon 22-5 and with a 19-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, there could only be one winner.

Ssengendo Mary Hazel was in her bag offensively with 27 points, 9/14, 64% FG, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 1 block.

Mellisa Kyazze was just unstoppable and she finished with 22 points, 11-18, 61% FG, 5 rebounds and 2 assists.

For Amazon Rhinos, Nassali Margaret led the way with 17 points, Aisha Lunkuse 15, and Charline Ursula 11 points and 8 rebounds.

It was a serious beating in game 4, 61-37 in favor of Nkumba and they dominated from the second quarter till end of the game.
