A lot of players who play in the National Basketball League and FUBA Division One will be representing Uganda (She Cranes) in the upcoming Vitality Nations Netball Cup in England.
The 13-player She Cranes squad contains 8 players who also play in the local basketball leagues.
Among these include Margaret Bagaala, who, despite being young, is considered a veteran given the number of events she’s participated in with the She Cranes.
She plays for the KCCA Leopards in the National Basketball League and was one of their top performers.

The other notable name is Privas Kayeny who plays for the Nkumba Lady Marines.
Privas leads the league in points, rebounds, steals, blocks, and assists and will undoubtedly be named the MVP.
In her last game, she recorded a triple-double and despite her team’s loss in overtime, her impact was very significant.

She recorded 20+rebounds in all the 3 games that she played and helped her team in the finals.
With her absence, Nkumba struggled in game 4 and the trend is expected to continue throughout the remainder of the series.
Penelope Amiya is another player that plays for the Nkumba Lady Marines.
She has been a key piece more so when Privas is resting and her ability to collect multiple rebounds has helped Nkumba Lady Marines tremendously.
Nasiimu Mutesi is one of the top athletes in Uganda due to the number of sporting disciplines she competes in at a high level.
She has represented Uganda in Beach Handball, Handball and now Netball.
She plays for UPDF Tomahawks in the National Basketball League.

The She Cranes will be competing against Malawi, England, and South Africa.
They will play their opening game on 1st February at Motorpoint Arena Nottingham against South Africa and they will return to action the following day to face Malawi.
They shall then move to Copper Box Arena in London for their game against England on Saturday 8th and the final games shall be on Sunday 9th.
