Victoria University defeated Rezlife Saints 72-64 in game 5 to retake the lead in the series, 3-2.
Victoria came into this game on the back of 2 defeats, the previous one being a 1-point loss courtesy of Caleb Katumba’s floater with the final attempt.
Their aim was to make sure they cut off the momentum of Rezlife and they managed to do that with their victory.
With about 3 minutes to go, Victoria led by 4 points, but Rezlife missed 4 consecutive free throws, which cost them a great deal.
The Villain from game 4, Cyrus, who missed 2 free throws and made the costly turnover, became the hero in this game as he delivered 2 huge baskets late in the game to put it to bed.
From the first quarter, the points were oscillating between 2 and 3 points and both teams were going hard at themselves.
Victoria University led the game 56-53 ahead of the fourth quarter.
