The Silverbacks will face Cape Verde in their opener of the final qualifying window on Friday 21st in Tripoli, Libya.

Last time around, Cape Verde won the game 78-73 but it went down to the final minutes.

With Cape Verde almost through, Uganda will come into this game fashioning their chances and knowing a victory would put them in a very comfortable spot.

The Manager Albert Ahabwe is confident that the will get the job done and that their mentality is to win.

“I’m confident the boys will go to Libya and get the results” he said.

“The boys are switched on and they know what is at stake. The mentality is to go and will all the 3 games” he concluded.

Tonny Drileba commented on what it means to represent the nation;

“It’s always exciting to don the National team colours. There’s always an adrenaline that comes with it and looking forward to these games”

He also commented on the belief that they and the fans need;

“We have to believe in the work we’ve put in and the roster we’ve assembled to go and get the jobe done”

The coach Mandy Juruni is happy with the progress so far after the training sessions.

“The last 3 days have been good, I’ve seen improvement in physical readiness and us playing together (chemistry)”

“We’ve had 6 to 7 training sessions which is good compared to last time when we barely trained”

He also commented on the reinforcements that from the first window.

“We reinforced the squad with 5 players that didn’t play in the first window”
