During the recently concluded Western Basketball Club Championship, FUBA through the President Mr. Nasser Serunjogi donated some basketballs to the hosts’ JOVOC and the organizers Beyond Basketball.
Beyond Basketball Foundation organized the first season of the Western Basketball League, which attracted 13 teams, with Wazeei emerging winners after edging Fort Portal in the finals.

The Head Teacher of JOVOC, Father Katono talked about what having more basketballs means for them;
“When we have many balls, that means many students are going to get access and experience with the ball which will help us promote the game” he said.
The Chairperson of Beyond Basketball, Vincent Mutahunga talked about how FUBA has helped them in the Western Basketball League.
“When we were beginning, they gave us an endorsement to start the league. They gave us score boards, sent trainers for referees plus table officials and gave us basketball”
“The balls we received today can be used for girls, 3×3 and the general league” he concluded with how the balls received will be used.
Beyond Basketball also runs an academy and having resources like these goes a long way into helping grow the game.
The second season of the Western Basketball League is expected to start in April and the number of participating teams is expected to increase to 17.
