The JT Jaguars delivered a dominant performance from start to finish against Livingstone to register a 73-46 victory in their season opener.
The two sides met in the 2023 FUBA Division One finals but since that victory in game 5, Livingstone was on a quest for their first victory against the Jaguars in the NBL.
It was a very tough start to the game for Livingstone as they scored just 1 point in the first 6 minutes of the game.
By the end of the quarter, the Jaguars led the game 16-4.
Despite Livingstone’s slightly improved offense in the second quarter, the Jaguars were still ahead and they made it a 17-point game at halftime.
The Jaguars’ offense even elevated more in the third quarter and they extended their lead to 27.

They scored 7/14, FG plus 9/11 FT and were for 25 points in the quarter.
On the other hand, Livingstone scored 15 points with 6/19 FG.
In the fourth quarter, the winner had already been decided and the Jaguars won the game 73-46.
Ahead of the game, many people were excited to see the JT Jaguars’ new signing, Peter Sifuma, and how he would perform and he did not disappoint.
Takeaways
From the onset, Livingstone looked disorganized. On their first 2 possessions, Michael Kuol and Isaac Akoal looked to have done things not on the script and their teammates were not happy.
Similar events were seen throughout the game and clearly, they lacked a leader on the court.
That is an area they need to figure out ASAP because judging on their performance in this game, they looked bad.
However, one positive for Livingstone is how they played defensively in the second quarter. They were very active and managed to get multiple defensive stops because of the effort they put in.
