The KCCA Leopards started their 2025 NBL season on a high with a thumping victory against the newly promoted Nkumba Lady Marines.
The Leopards, who were title favorites at the beginning of the 2024 season, did not live up to their expectations, and this year, despite not being as relevant as they were, they still hope to win the Championship.
They looked like a force in their season opener and the Nkumba Lady Marines had no solution for for them.
The first quarter ended 18-10 but in the second quarter, KCCA washed the Lady Marines 28-8 to take a 28-point lead into the halftime break.
The Leopards were still hungry and in the fourth quarter, they went for blood.
They scored 43 points which was more than what Nkumba scored the entire game.
They scored 17/29 from the field, 6/8 Free throws and added 10 steals.

Perus Nyamwenge was the star of the game, and she showed her intentions to create for her teammates.
Nkumba Lady Marines was without their star players Privas Kayeny and Penlop Amiya and their unavailability left a very big hole which the Lady Marines couldn’t cover.

The Nkumba Lady Marines will be seeking their first victory of the season when they travel to Abja Park for their duel against UPDF Lady Tomahawks on Wednesday 26th.
