The 2025 NBL season tipped off on Friday 21st March after over 5 months without top flight basketball.

We take a look at some of the top performers in the opening week of the season.

Perus Nyamwenge

The KCCA Leopards star had a flawless performance as her side manhandled newcomers Nkumba Lady Marines in a 104-42 victory.

Perus had a near triple-double, 18 points, 13 assists, 8 rebounds and 7 steals.

She controlled the game really well and created for her teammates which made them get some easy baskets.

Brenda Alyano

Brenda has made a name for herself when it comes to scoring and in the opening weekend, she show cased why she’s very important for the Miracle Ravens.

She scored 22 of the 29 points in the fourth as Miracle Ravens defeated Nkumba on Saturday.

On Sunday, she dropped 32 points against UCU Lady Canons which is the most scored by a player in a game so far this season.

She scored 11 of the 21 points for Miracle in the fourth quarter but was unable to guide her side to victory.

Martha Yikiru

The Nabisunsa youngster put on a show in their game against Miracle Ravens despite the defeat.

She was the only player who registered a double-double in the game, and she finished with 17 points, 8/12, 66% FG, 11 rebounds,  2 assists, and 3 steals.

She scored 7 of the 12 fourth-quarter points for Nabisunsa.

Hope Akello

Hope Akello has been a mainstay in the team of the week and once again, she had a wonderful performance which earned her a spot.

Despite falling to the JT Lady Jaguars, the JKL Lady Dolphins competed and Hope led from the front.

She finished with 20 points, 9/17, 52% FG, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal.

Rebecca Susan Aanyu

The KCCA Leopards Captain did her part exceptionally well as her side thumped Nkumba Lady Marines 104-42.

Susan played for 22 minutes, and in that period, she put up 20 points, 8-12, 66% FG, 11 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 block.
