After their narrow 56-53 defeat to the KCCA Panthers on Saturday, the Rezlife Saints bounced back with victory in their next game on Sunday.
The Saints were seeking their first win of the season and they came face to face with the Rockets who had also suffered defeat in their opener.
The stakes in this game were very high as both teams didn’t want to be down 2-0 to start the new season but the Saints managed to come out on top courtesy of a 58-45 win.
After the first quarter, Rezlife Saints led the game 20-10 but the situation turned around in the second.
The Rockets turned up offensively and scored 22 points to the Saints’ 12 and at halftime, the game was level, 32-32.
Mpiya Juf was unlocked and he scored 12 points, 5/7, FG in the second quarter.
The Rockets put up a ‘horrible’ performance in the second half.
They scored just a total of 13 points in 20 minutes and what was the most annoying thing was the fact that they missed 12 of 15 free throws in the second half.

Rezlife Saints Head Coach Moses Okwera had some reactions following his side’s victory.
“We couldn’t afford to be 0-2. After yesterday’s loss, we said we couldn’t lose again today”
“We’ve been training hard, especially with defense. I kept telling the boys that they need to work on their bodies. Every last day of practice we ice, recovery is important” he commented playing hard in back-to-back games.
Apugi collected 20 rebounds and the coach had some words of praise for him,
“He is our best rebounder. He does his job well as a big man.”
