The JT Jaguars and the City Oilers shall be facing off in each team’s second game of the 2025 NBL and this is a game of high stakes.
Jaguars won their season opener against Livingstone with a resounding 73-46 victory and will be looking to make it back-to-back win to start the season.
With the acquisition of Peter Sifuma from the Mukono-based side, UCU Canons, many believe that they are in contention to win the Championship.
Defeating the reigning champions would be a statement victory and one that would significantly boost their confidence about their chances of winning the grand prize.
The City Oilers came into the season without 3 of their top stars, Fayed Baale, Ivan Muhwezi, and Titus Lual. Despite all this, they put up an incredible performance in the 1-point loss to the Namuwongo Blazers.
Most people think that this is the year in which their winning (championship) streak will end and it’s upon them to prove the doubters wrong.
Despite falling in the opener, there were very many positives to take away, and for them, it is imminent that they get a victory in this game.
Winning a game like that will boost their morale and confidence, whereas losing would do the opposite, and it will surely plant seeds of doubt in their psyche.

The Oilers are expected to have some of their stars, who missed the first game, back and how the plays and performs will be very interesting to watch.
Previous Games
City Oilers 80:81 Nam Blazers
JT Jaguars 73:46 Livingstone
Head to Head
City Oilers 72:53 JT Jaguars
City Oilers 73:53 JT Jaguars
The City Oilers won both outings against the JT Jaguars in the 2024 season. However, it is important to note that it was the Jaguars’ first time in the top flight.
Have the Jaguars ‘matured’ enough to upset the defending Champions?
We shall be finishing out the answer to that riddle on Friday 28th as both teams face off at 9:00 pm.
