In a rematch of the 2024 NBL Semifinals, the UCU Lady Canons defeated the KIU Rangers 56-40 to go up 2-0 for the season.

The Lady Canons played fluid, selfless basketball in the first quarter and took the lead 18-8.

They hit 4 3-point shots in the first quarter alone and to start the second,  Millicent Otieno added 2 in less than 1 minute.

In the preceding 4 minutes, UCU scored 0 points, and KIU made a 7-0 run to put the deficit to 9 points, but they never looked like a big threat.

By halftime, the Lady Canons led the game 32-21 and one could say that the game was still open.

The third quarter was low-scoring but both teams were on and off.

KIU Rangers did not score in the first 5 minutes of the quarter and UCU scored just 4 points in the final 5 minutes of the quarter.

The Rangers looked exhausted in the final period, and they kept making turnovers (10 in the 4th quarter), and UCU managed to seal the deal.
