The KIU Rangers will clash with the KCCA Leopards in a game of major consequences on Friday 4th at Lugogo.
Following their disappointing defeat to the UCU Lady Canons in their season opener, the Rangers returned to winning ways after 66-51 victory against the UPDF Lady Tomahawks.
They need to win this game against the KCCA Leopards because they wouldn’t want to lose 2 of their 3 opening games.
Additionally, KCCA, just like UCU, is in many ways a ‘contender,’ and with also the Rangers being ‘contenders’, losing 2/2 against contenders wouldn’t look good.
The KCCA Leopards scored 104 past Nkumba Lady Marines in their opening game and this was a statement victory.
However, in their next game, they lost to the Miracle Ravens and people have already started counting them off.
After their abysmal second-round performance against the ‘top’ teams in the 2024 season, the KCCA Leopards have a huge task to become relevant again.
Winning a game of this magnitude brings you back in the conversation of contenders.
For them, losing this game drifts them very far away from the contenders’ discussion and they are aware of this.

Expectations
Both teams didn’t have good starts in their previous games and starting on the strong foot will be on their agendas.
Sharon Kirabo had a good outing against UPDF; finishing with 16 points.
However, Ines Kanyamuneza has yet to be unlocked and she has to dig deep and be productive.
Tracy Namugosa has had a good start with the KCCA Leopards and she will be being looked at as a source of offense.
