The KIU Rangers returned to winning ways after thumping the Nkumba Lady Marines 71-27 on Sunday, the 6th, at Lugogo.

KIU lost their previous game against the KCCA Leopards on Friday and they sought redemption.

A game against winless Nkumba was a perfect opportunity for them to return to the winning column and they made no mistake.

Coming into this game, the Nkumba Lady Marines were winless in their 3 games and a victory against a hungry Rangers side was a difficult ask of them.

To make matters worse, they did not have the services of their reliable big men, Privas Kayeny and Penlop Amiya.

It was going to be a very long morning for them as they did not have answers both offensively and defensively.

KIU Rangers led the game 18-11 after the first quarter but it was the preceding 2 quarters where Nkumba hit the lows of lows.

They scored just 2 points in the second quarter and 4 in the third.

The KIU Rangers took a 37-point lead with the final 10 minutes to play and it was pretty much game down.
