The UCU Canons managed to defend home court as they defeated the Rezlife Saints 64-42.

Rezlife Saints had won their previous game against Victoria University in a game were Acinbai Apugi set a record.

He registered 20+points and 20+ rebounds becoming the first player to do so in the 2025 NBL.

The Rezlife Saints sought to make it 3 wins in a row but had to face the UCU Canons at their own home in a game that was always going to be hard.

For the UCU Canons, having lost their first game of the season, they needed redemption and were out to get the job done.

In the first quarter, both teams seemed evenly matched and it ended 16-14 with UCU in the lead.

However, from the second quarter onwards, the Rezlife Saints did not show up offensively.

They scored 12 points in the second quarter and a combined 16 in the entire second half.

They scored just 2 field goals in the third quarter a total of 6 of 34 attempts in the second half.

Despite having fewer attempts from the field, the Canons were a much more efficient side in the second half.

They scored 11/25 and 27 points to 16 for Rezlife and in the end, they won the game 64-42.

Rezlife Saints were unable make it 3 wins in a row and now have an even 2-2 record.

They will be back in action on Sunday 6th as they take on Sommet at Lugogo in the final game of the week.

Both teams were in Division One last year and as they face off tomorrow, it will be a must watch.

The UCU Canons have won their first game of the season and have a 1-1 record.

They will take on unbeaten KCCA Panthers next on Friday 11th at Lugogo.
