The KIU Rangers took care of business on Sunday 13th as they defeated high-flying Miracle Eaglets 53-48.

KIU Rangers had been on a 2-2 record and aimed to get a winning record for the first time this season.

They were up against the Miracle Eaglets who had won 3 of their first 4 games of the season.

The Ravens had scored 101 in their previous game against Nkumba, and their winning this game would have taken them top of the table.

The Eaglets led 13-10 after the first quarter. They led by as many as 7 but did not score in the final 2 minutes of the quarter.

Things started falling apart for Miracle in the second quarter.

They quite couldn’t find their footing in the game and kept making mistake after mistake.

Their efficiency also dropped significantly as they scored just 3 field goals from their 15 attempts.

The Rangers kept punishing them with transition and some points from turnovers.

By halftime, KIU led the game 28-23 but most importantly, they had the momentum.

The Eaglets went from bad to worse in the third quarter.

Just 6 points to their name and 0 in the first 5 minutes of the quarter.

The Rangers were also not great as they scored just 6 points in that time but they managed to create a 13-point advantage with the final 10 minutes left.

Propser Anyine and Hanifah Namuli dropped back-to-back triples to start the fourth quarter to make it a 7-point game.

Mid-way through the game, the Eaglets made another 6-0 to make it a 3-point game with under 2 minutes left.

However, back-to-back turnovers made the KIU Rangers 4 easy points late in the game and they sealed the victory 53-48.
