Evelyne Nakiyinji was the star performer as the JKL Lady Dolphins made it 3 consecutive victories after their 76-50 win against the Nkumba Lady Marines.
Ahead of this game, Nkumba had lost all their 5 outings and just the day before, they had been thumped by the JT Lady Jaguars.
Getting a win against the defending champions was always going to be a hard task, but they gave it a try nonetheless.
In the game, where many thought JKL would blow up the Lady Marines early in the game, it wasn’t so.
The Lady Dolphins led 16-10 after the first quarter and took the second 11-9.
At halftime, the game was 27-19 but many were surprised at how low the score for JKL was, given the number of points Nkumba had been conceding in their previous games.
Nevertheless, Lady Dolphins took over in the second half.
They outscored Nkumba 49-31 and secured a 26-point victory, their heaviest so far this season.
Nakiyinji was a menace for Nkumba in the fourth quarter. She scored 11 points, 5 steals and 3 assists.
