The UCU Canons made it 3 consecutive victories for the first time this season after securing a 74-60 victory against Livingstone.

This is a game that the Canons came in, expecting to bag the win and they did so, though, it wasn’t as plain sailing.

The Canons started the game with an 8-0 run but Livingstone found their footing, scored 3 triples and were back in the game.

After the first quarter, UCU led the game 14-13 but they got better in the second.

In the first 5 minutes of the second quarter, UCU outscored Livingstone 16-5 to take a 12-point lead and they never looked back.

Despite slowing down in the final 5 minutes of the quarter, scoring just 4 points, the Canons also limited Livingstone to just 3 points in that time and the game was 34-21 at the halftime break.

Marvin Jesse Okurut scored 11 for the Canons in the third period as they extended their lead to 20 points with the fourth quarter left to play.

Livingstone produced their best fourth-quarter performance this season as they scored 24 points to UCU’s 18.

The earlier deficit was too big to reduce and UCU walked with a 74-60 win.
