Magic Stormers managed to hold off Miracle Eaglets to win, 65-62, in a  hotly-contested game at YMCA on Wednesday 23rd.

Following their 54-46 defeat to UCU Lady Canons, the Stormers were hungry for a win and this was a very good opportunity for them.

They were up against a Miracle Eaglets team, who, despite getting a win, were outscored in each of the last 3 quarters by Angels, in their previous game.

The first quarter set the tone for what was to come later.

A total of 16 free throws were made with each team attempting 8.

The Stormers made 7/8 while Miracle made 6/8 and by the end of the quarter, it was that one-point difference: Stormers leading 20-19.

Namugala Jesca and Akello Winnifred  scored 9 points each in the first quarter.

Contrary to the first quarter, the second saw only 6 attempted free throws.

Midway through the quarter, the Magic Stormers made an 11-0 run to take an 8-point lead, the biggest in the game.

The third quarter was very hard to watch because of the very low quality of offense.

The game saw a mere 2 points from both teams, 1 each, in the first 5 minutes of the quarter.

Miracle got an opportunity to tie the game and eventually take the lead after Akello Winnifred made a huge 3.

However, Magic Stormers closed the quarter with 4 unanswered points to take a 2-point lead heading into the final quarter.

With 4:00 left in this game, Magic Stormers led by 5 points but Miracle made a 9-1 run to take 3-point lead w ith under 2 minutes left.

After a timeout, youngster, Auma Angela made a huge 3-point shot to give the lead to the Magic Stormers.

Her sister, Daphine Adong made a beautiful spin away from Hanifah Namuli to finish under the rim and extended the Stormers’ lead to 4 points.

Charity Lamaro delivered the dagger shortly after, with a huge 3-point shot that made it a 5-point game with under a minute to play.

In the final minute of the game, there was a total of 10 attempts from the free throw line, 6 for the Miracle and 4 for the Stormers.

Miracle scored 5 of the 6 attempts while Daphine Adong scored 2 of her 4 attempts for the Stormers and they turned out to be enough to secure a 62-65 victory.
