The KCCA Leopards registered their fourth consecutive victory after defeating the UCU Lady Canons 63-61 in a jittery contest.
With 4:19 left in the game, Bridget Aber made a lay up to tie the game 53-53 and the Leopards’ coach Rogers Serunyigo was furious at the umpire and was charged with a technical foul shortly after.
Coach Rogers was arguing that a foul should have been called after Uwineza Ninette appeared to have been pulled but it wasn’t.
On that possession, the Leopards made a turnover and the Lady Canons’ capitalized with the basket by Bridget Aber.
However, Coach Rogers argued that Aber made a travel violation before scoring and in his mind, those were 2 calls against his side and the Lady Canons had profited.
Hajara najjuko made the free throw to give UCU the lead but the KCCA Leopards scored huge late baskets after that.
Sharua Nakirya scored a huge 3-point shot while Susan Aanyu beat the buzzer with another triple to make it a 5-point game.
Shortly after, Uwineza Ninette made a very good drive to the basket to make it a 7-point leas to KCCA with about 2 minutes to go.
Millicent Otieno scored a huge 3-point shot to make it a 2-point game with 13 seconds left but the Leopards managed to see the game through to win 63-61.
The Lady Canons led the game 13-12 after the first quarter and they scored 3 3-point shots in that time.
In the second quarter, Perus Nyamwenge took over!
She scored 13 points in the quarter, with 3 triples made she kept KCCA in the game.
by the end of the half, the game was tied 31 apiece but there were a lot of missed opportunites for the Lady Canons.
They missed a couple of lay ups in transition and those turned out to be very valuable points at the end.
UCU made an 11-1 run in the third quarter to get a 7-point lead and they as the fourth quarter approached, they led the game 46-43.
Sarah Namale opened the quarter with a 3-point after being left open and dared to shoot.
The Leopards responded with a 6-0 run to tied the game and from their onward, the game was very close until the back-to-back 3-point shots by the KCCA Leopards.
KCCA managed to see out the game 63-61 to registered their 5th consecutive victory.

The UCU Lady Canons have lost against all the opposition so far: JKL Lady Dolphins, JT Lady Jaguars and now the KCCA Leopards.
They have a 5-4 with their walkover loss to Angels still in contention.
They return to action on Saturday 10th May, as they face the UPDF Lady Tomahawks in their final first round game.
The KCCA Leopards now have a 5-1 record.
