The City Oilers registered their third consecutive victory after defeating Sommet 83-69 on Sunday 4th at YMCA.

For the first time this season, the Oilers have a winning record, 5-4, and it has been a rough ride, even in the game against newbies, Sommet.

Sommet led the game 21-20 after the first quarter and it was mainly down to their efficiency.

The Kansanga based side scored 10 of their 18 attempts while the Oilers 9 of their 21 attempts from the field.

In the second quarter, City Oilers scored 5 3-point shots and led with as many as 7 points but Sommet scored the final 4 points in the quarter to make it a 3-point game heading into halftime.

The third quarter was the difference in the game as City Oilers limited Sommet to just 7 points.

Sommet went scoreless for more than 6 minutes and in that time, the Oilers made a 16-0 run to extend their lead to 19 points.

Despite being down by 17 points heading into the fourth quarter, Sommet still had hope and they kept pushing.

They applied a lot of pressure in the Oilers, forcing them into 10 turnovers in the fourth quarter alone and capitalizing with 10 points from turnovers.

They outscored City Oilers 21-18 in the fourth quarter but lost the game 83-69.
