The KIU Titans almost registered their first victory of the season on Sunday 4th as they fell 53-47 to the Kampala Rockets at YMCA.
The Rockets came very close to bagging a win after a dramatic turnaround of the game in the second half.
At the end of the first half, the Kampala Rockets led the game 31-9 and everyone thought it was going to be a stroll in the park for the Rockets.
However, the situation drastically turned around in the second half to the point of the KIU Titans taking the lead with less than 5 minutes to spare.
KIU made an 11-0 run to start the third quarter and they closed the quarter with an 8-0, to make it a 6-point game with the final quarter left to play.
At this moment in time, the Titans had a lot of belief that they could get a result and the crowd was now behind them.
After less than 90 seconds to start the final quarter, the KIU Titans had scored 8 points and the game was tied.
They went ahead to take a 3-point lead and there was a lot of panic in the Kampala Rockets camp.
With 4:51 left in the game, the Titans were up by 2 points but the Kampala Rockets made an 8-0 run to gain a 6-point lead that was enough for them to win the game.
Brian Opio made 2 huge free throws and a crucial 3-point shot and all these contributed significantly to the victory.

The KIU Titans are still searching for their first victory of the season having fallen short in all their 9 attempts.
They return to action on Wednesday 7th May as they face the Victoria Crocs at Lugogo.
The Kampala Rockets now have a winning record, 5-4 and are on course for a top 5 finish after the first round.
They will face tough tests in game week 8, a game against the KCCA Panthers on Wednesday 7th and the City Oilers on Sunday 11th.
