Makerere Sparks made it 2 wins in 3 games after their hard fought 46-39 victory against legends on Saturday 10th at Hamz Stadium.

Having completed the double over Legends in the 2024 season, Sparks’ came into this game oozing confidence and they knew that it was a must win for them.

To surprise of many, the first quarter ended 12 apiece.

Despite legends making 9 turnovers in the first quarter, the Sparks only scored 6 points from turnovers and with the way the game was going, it was there for everybody to take.

Makerere scored just 1 point in the first 5 minutes of the second quarter and legends took a 10-point lead.

However, as the halftime break approached, Makerere got some baskets and cut the deficit to 1 point.

The teams neck and neck, 35-34, legends in the lead and this set the stage for a consequential fourth quarter.

Makerere stepped up defensively in the final period and they limited Legends to just 1 field goal made.

They also scored 6 of 11 attempts from the field and managed to walk away with a 46-39 victory.

The following day, Legends returned to action against Lady Jills and the MUBS based side managed to secure a hard fought 46-42 victory.

Legends has lost all their 3 games to start the season.

They return to action the weekend with back-to-back games: against Amazon Rhino on Saturday 17th at UCU Kampala Campus and Kampala University on Sunday 18th at Hamz Stadium.

Makerere Sparks has a 2-1 record in their first 3 games and will be facing their toughest test this weekend.

They face the Pearl Queens on Saturday 17th at UCU Kampala Campus and the YMCA Lady Hamstars on Sunday at Hamz Stadium.
