The Magic Stormers scored 31 points in the fourth quarter to secure a huge 72-63 victory against the KIU Rangers.

Coming into this game, the KIU Rangers had won 3 straight games and aimed to keep the streak alive.

However, the Rangers faced one major issue which was the availability of players.

KIU had just 6 players available because the others are currently in Zanzibar participating in the East Africa Netball Championship.

On the other hand, the Magic Stormers had narrowly fallen to the KCCA Leopards, 83-79, in their previous game.

They also aimed to secure a victory and return to winning ways.

However, they also lacked the services of their top rebounders, Christine Nakitto and Ruth Nambirige, who are also in Zanzibar.

The Magic Stormers led the game 16-11 after the first quarter.

KIU scored just 2 points in the final 5 minutes of the quarter and the Stormers had them where they wanted them to be.

The Rangers started the second quarter on a good note as they made a mini-run and established a 4-point lead.

However, in the final 5 minutes, they were again outscored by a mile.

The Stormers made a 15-2 run and established a 9-point lead heading into halftime.

The Rangers kept fighting and they made a 9-0 run to come with 2 points.

Fortunately for them, there was also a slight downpour which led the game to be halted.

This gave them ample time to rest and when the game resumed, they closed the quarter with a 6-0 run to take the lead, 42-41, with the fourth quarter left to play.

Both teams went at each other in the first minutes of the final period but hell broke loose in clutch time.

Magic Stormers made a 10-0 run to take an 11-point with 90 seconds left in the game.

The Rangers could not salvage anything in the final minutes and the Stormers took a 72-63 victory.

The KIU Rangers were forced into 34 turnovers and Magic Stormers scored a whopping 40 points from turnovers.
