The YMCA Lady Hamstars maintained their perfect start to the 2025 FUBA Division One season with 2 wins over the weekend.
In the most highly anticipated women’s game, the Lady Hamstars edged the newly formed Victoria She Crocs 55-49.
YMCA had great defense in the fourth quarter and that was enough to propel them to victory in this game.
YMCA led the game 20-6 after the first quarter and it was not a surprise as they scored 8 from 24 field goal attempts while Victoria scored just 2 from 18 attempts.
Tables turned around in the second quarter.
Victoria outscored YMCA 14-4 in the first 5 minutes of the quarter and by the time the half break reached, it was a 3-point game in favor of the Lady Hamstars.
The She Crocs carried their second-quarter momentum forward into the third and they were able to lead by as many as 6 but YMCA scored the final 2 baskets to make it a 2-point game.
Victoria scored their only 2 fourth-quarter field goals in the first 3 minutes of the quarter.
In the remainder of the game, YMCA outscored them 12-1 to win the game 55-49.
4 of the 5 YMCA starters scored 10+ points.
Viola Nakazibwe registered a season-high 22 rebounds and she became the first player to register 15+ rebounds in back-to-back games.

The following day, the YMCA Lady Hamstars registered another victory after cruising past Kampala University with a 53-31 win.
Amy Chan Grace registered another double-double, 15 points, 15 rebounds, 5 blocks and 2 assists.
Rose Adhiambo (12 pts), Akello Scovia (11 pts) and Njeru Agnes (12 rebs) all registered double digits.
Victoria Nalwanga registered a double-double for Kampala University (10 points, 10 rebounds).
The Victoria She Crocs returned to winning ways the following day after downing Amazon Rhino 57-42.
Generous Grant registered a game-high 17 points and 9 rebounds.
Ayak Ngor registered her first double-digit score with 14 points while Viola Nakazibwe led in rebounds with 10.
Amazon did not have anyone with double-digit scores but Lunkuse Aisha led the way with 9 points.
Victoria returns to action this weekend with a single game against Lady Jills on Sunday 18th at Hamz Stadium.
The YMCA Lady Hamstars have 2 games this weekend; against Seeta High on Saturday the 17th and Makerere Sparks on Sunday the 18th.
Both games shall be at Hamz Stadium Nakivubo and the big question is, will YMCA maintain their 100% record?
