Livingstone Basketball Club parted ways with Coach Jeff Omondi who had taken the helm at the start of the 2025 NBL season.

Coach Jeff was last seen on the sideline on Easter Monday, 21st April as Livingstone took on the Namuwongo Blazers at YMCA.

He was ejected after verbally attacking the referee, David Opolot, and had to be restrained for fear of the situation escalating.

Consequently, he was fined 150 Dollars and handed a 3-game suspension.

In a discussion with Livingstone CEO Mr. Ahmed Kamoga, he revealed that the club had parted ways with the coach.

Mr. Kamoga addressed the reason why the club decided to let go of  coach Jeff.

“He is a good coach but based on the run we’ve been having, 1 win in 8 games by the time he left, i made the decision to let him go”.

“I decided to give chance to other people to see how they can improve on the team.”

Livingstone is currently in the 11th position after managing only a single victory in 11 games in the first round.

They face relegation and need a lot of things to align for them if they are to survive.

Currently, the team is under coach Juma Osman who was Jeff’s assistant.

He is being assisted by Trezor who has also been a part of the club as a player and an assistant coach for a while.

It is yet to be confirmed if the club will bring in a new head coach but the Club CEO confirmed that there won’t be new player additions.

“I don’t think we are going to sign any other player. We just need to get our house in order, motivate the boys more to put in the work and they will play”
