Ihoops registered their first victory in the 2025 FUBA Division One Season after edging the Miracle Eagles 63-51 on Saturday 17th at UCU Kamapla Campus.
It was a great team performance in this game as three players registered a double-double to help Ihoops update their wins column.
Ahead of this game, Ihoops had played 3 of the top 8 teams from the 2024 season: Nkumba Marines, UMU Flames and UPDF Tomahawks and they lost all those games.
However, they saw this game as an opportunity to get off the mark and they did exactly that.
They led the game after the first quarter 18-11, and they limited the Eagles to just 3 points in 9 minutes.
However, tables turned around in the second quarter.
Ihoops was limited to just 2 points in the final 5 minutes of the quarter and Miracle outscored them 13-6 to tie the game 24 apiece going into the halftime break.
Ihoops broke away in the third quarter after blowing out the Miracle 22-6 to take a 16-point lead into the fourth quarter.
Miracle missed a lot of attempts and for every miss, Ihoops punished them.
Edward Komakech and company kept attacking the paint and they always came out with something.
Miracle tried to come back in the game in the fourth quarter and they brought it to withing 4 points but Ihoops managed to make and 8-0 run to seal the deal.
Down 16 with 3:49 remaining, it was going to be very hard to see Ihoops lose the game and they secured their first win, 63-51, in the end.
