Legend Nabulobi Franceas is a prime example of “play till the wheels fall off.”
She dropped a 30 piece as Legends fell to unbeaten YMCA Lady Hamstars 66-46 on Sunday 25th at Hamz Stadium and became the first player to reach 100+ points this season.
After the first quarter, YMCA led the game 18-11 but Franceas Nabulobi had scored all the Legends’ points.
In the second quarter, YMCA created the separation they needed after making a 10-0 run and establishing a 16-point lead at halftime.
By the halftime break, Nabulobi had a game-high 15 points.
Legends still had belief that they could win the game and they played like so in the third quarter.
After YMCA made it a 20-point game, Legends made a 12-0 run to cut the deficit to 8 points and as the quarter winded down, they had the momentum.
However, in the fourth quarter, Legends seemed to run out of steam.
The Lady Hamstars made a 7-0 run to make it an 18-point game with 8 minutes to go and Legends couldn’t comeback.
Just like the first quarter, Franceas scored all 7 points for Legends in the fourth quarter to finish with 30 points in the game.
Her final basket as a 3-point shot and with that, she became the first player to reach 100+ points in the 2025 FUBA Division One season.
Nabulobi was part of the Team of The Season in the 2023 FUBA Division One season and one wonders if she can make that feat again.
Legends’ winning streak was cut off and they now have a 2-4 record.
Legends face Buddo Mystiques next on Saturday 31st at UCU Kampala Campus and Pearl Queens on Sunday 1st at Hamz Stadium.
Can Nabulobi guide them to wins in both games so that they can even their record?
