The Uganda U23 3×3 Team departed for Benin where they will take part in the 2025 FIBA 3×3 Youth Nations League.

The week-long event will start on Tuesday 3rd June and run till Sunday 9th June with 6 stops played, one per day.

The event also doubles as the qualifiers for the FIBA U23 3×3 World Cup, which shall take place in Xiong An, China from 17th to 21st September.

In 2024, Uganda hosted the event, and the ladies emerged as the Champions and ultimately represented at the World Cup in Mongolia.

On the other hand, the men finished in third place behind Algeria and Benin who were both present at the World Cup.

The ladies are on a mission to defend their crown and also make consecutive appearances at the World Cup.

Most importantly, they have players like Shillah Lamunu and Mary Priscillar Nambogo who represented at the World Cup in 2024 and will bring the experience and required leadership.

The men have seasoned player Peter Obleng who is expected to lead the charges and hopefully guide them to the global stage.
