What was initially thought to be an easy game turned out to be a very difficult one.
Seeta High pushed Pearl Queens to the limit, giving them a bloody nose and a run for their money.
Despite the Queens getting a 42-36 victory, they had to fight and they took it in the fourth quarter.
Ahead of this game, Pearl Queens had won all their previous 6 games and this was looked at as another possible walk in the park.
However, Seeta High, which was seen as the inferior team had won their last 3 games and had the momentum.
To the surprise of many, the first quarter ended in a 9 all stalemate.
In the second quarter, the lead was alternating a bit but Pearl Queens scored the final 5 points to take a 3-point lead into halftime.
It was also a very low-scoring third quarter, 8-6, in favor of Seeta and with the fourth quarter left, it was a 1-point game.
At the this point, Pearl Queens had struggled offensively as they barely made any baskets from the half court plays.
14 of their 27 points were points from turnovers while others were transition and second chance points.
Seeta High played a 1-3-1 defense all through and Pearl Queens struggled to beat it.
The high school side also had a lot of interior presence and that explains why it was very difficult for Pearl Queens to break through.
Pearl Queens broke away at the start of the fourth quarter.
They scored 6 unanswered points in transition to take an 8-point lead.
This early lead gained was enough for them and Seeta’s attempts to cut through it were futile.
In the end, Pearl Queens managed to weather the storm and won the game 42-36.
