With the 2025 NBL First Round well behind our backs, we take a look at some of the top performers.

Hope Akello

The 2024 MVP has been taking of business and has helped her side, JKL Lady Dolphins, to 8 wins.

She is one of the few people who average a double-double, 14.9 points, 11 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.4 steals.

Akello is top 10 in points scored, rebounds, and assists.

Akello Winnifred

Winnifred has made the team of the week numerous times and even when her team loses, she has always stood out.

She also averages a double-double, 17.1 points, 13.5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks.

Akello has registered a double-double in 7 of her 8 games this season.

Mpoza Abigail

Abigail has been a revelation because of her scoring prowess and opponents are yet to find a solution for her.

She is the only player to average over 20 points and is in pole position to win the scoring title this season.

Mpoza averages 21.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.8 steals.

Nabisunsa has a chance to make the playoffs but that can only be possible if Mpoza maintains the level she has been on and 3 other players join her.

Sarah Ageno

Ageno also averages a double-double, 11.4 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.3 blocks.

With Mercy Batamuliza dwindling in rebounding, Sarah has held down the fort and been very integral to their performance.

She is among the 2 players who have registered 20+ points and 20+ rebounds in a game this season.

Daphine Adong

Adong together with her sister Auma have been very pivotal in the Magic Stormers ‘magical’ performances this season.

Adong has been a big scorer for them, and a very good defensive player, not forgetting her role as a facilitator.

She leads in steals with 4.9 and is top 5 in assists with 4.4.

Additionally, she averages 14.1 points and 7.1 rebounds.

Second Team

Other honourable mentions include;

Ines Kanyamuneza, Angela Auma, Martha Yikiru, Margaret Bagaala, Tamasha Nsubuga, Rebecca Susan Aanyu, and Mariam Namukwaya.
