The KIU Titans registered their first victory of the season after defeating Livingstone 86-67 in an outstanding first quarter performance.
The KIU Titans won 0 games in the first round but came close against the Kampala Rockets and Livingstone.
After blowing an 18-point lead against the Kampala Rockets in their previous game, they were a much more focused team this time around and were ready to complete the mission.
Similarly to what happened against the Kampala Rockets, KIU dominated the first quarter, scoring 33 points to Livingstone’s 13 to take a 20-point lead.
Even with this lead, some people still doubted them but when the second quarter came about, they took it 19-15 to extend their lead to 24 at halftime.
William Charles Saverino scored 11 of the Titans’ 24 in the third quarter to help them extend their lead to 32.
There was surely no return for Livingstone as they trailed 76-44 going into the fourth quarter.
Stone City made a 13-0 run to cut the deficit to 19 with 6-47 left but time wasn’t on their side.
As soon as KIU put some points up, Livingstone knew there was no comeback and they lost 86-67.
It was a matter of time before the KIU Titans got their first win and it is not surprising that they got it against Livingstone.

With this loss, Livingstone now has a 1-12 record and Division One is calling.
They face the JKL Dolphins next on Sunday 8th at Lugogo.
A win in this game would increase their chances of survival but a loss puts out any hope left.
New signings Hon Kwany and Akok Peter have heard instant impact, helping the Titans to their first win of the season.
KIU now has a 1-12 record but surviving relegation will be very difficult, task, for them to accomplish.
They take on the City Oilers next on Wednesday 11th at YMCA.
