In the fourth quarter, the KIU Rangers led by as many as 9 points.
However, the Stormers came back and with under a minute to go, the game was tied at 65 points.
Sharon Kirabo was then fouled and scored 1 of 2 free throws to give the Rangers a 1-point lead.
The Stormers called for a timeout but what happened in the final 41 seconds was pure drama.
Daphine Adong turned over the ball and the Rangers got possession.
However, they also turned it and the Magic Stormers had a chance to win secure the win.
Sekuye Omela went past the defender, put the ball with the final attempt of the game but it only hit rim and KIU won the game 66-65.
Magic Stormers did so many things right in this game and one could say they were unfortunate not to win the game.
They cleaned up the boards very well registering 60 rebounds to KIU’s 39.
The Stormers had 3 players register double-doubles, a sign that effort was from multiple sources.
The one blemish that cost them was the 3-point shooting.
The KIU Rangers scored 9 3-point shots while the Stormers scored just 1 in 19 attempts and that proved to be the difference.
The Stormers started strong, taking the first quarter 21-12.
Tables turned in the second quarter as Magic scored just 2 field goals all coming inside the first 3 minutes.
They had a total 6 points in the quarter while KIU scored 20, including 4 triples.
By halftime, the Rangers led the game 27-32 and they extended it to 52-44 at the end of the third quarter.
Magic Stormers came back in the game in the fourth but was unable to make the basket the mattered the most.
