Is this a Make or Break Week for the JT Lady Jaguars?

The JT Lady Jaguars faced heavy defeats against JKL and KCCA, Can they return the favor against the KIU Rangers and UCU Lady Canons.

The JT Lady Jaguars have 2 huge games in game week 16, against the KIU Rangers and the UCU Canons.

This is a make or break week for them?

One could be wondering, for a team that lost only a single game in round one, why should they be worried?

Well, we saw a similar situation play out in the 2024 season.

The KCCA Leopards were looked at as the team that could push the JKL Lady Dolphins and they did well in the first round.

However, in the second, they lost 4 games, all coming against the ‘top’ teams.

KCCA lost with differences of 22, 14, 8 and 22 against the KIU Rangers, UCU Canons, JT Lady Jaguars and JKL Lady Dolphins respectively.

In those games, KCCA was far away from the team that we had seen in the first round and a lot of similarities have been seen with this year’s JT Lady Jaguars.

The Jaguars lost to KCCA 63-46 and JKL 82-52 in the second round and in both games, they never gave their opponents any sort of competition.

This week, they face a UCU side that has defeated both JKL and KCCA in the second round.

Coming into the game, the Lady Canons will be filled with so much confidence about securing a win.

The KIU Rangers had been the only side that the Lady Jaguars hadn’t defeated until the third place playoff in the 2024 season.

In the first round of the 2025 season, JT narrowly won the game, 60-58.

This time around, the Rangers will be out to upset them but this game has more implications for the Lady Jaguars than the Rangers.

We all know that JT is viewed as a much better side and that they should be able to win this game.

However, if they lose, the pressure will be even more going into the game against UCU on Friday.

All in all, the JT Lady Jaguars have to find ways of winning both or at least one of these games.

If they lose both, the confidence in the team from the fans and the players will dwindle tremendously and they will not be viewed as title challengers anymore.

The difference between this year and last is the fact that there will be a break from the end of the regular season until the playoffs.

Teams will have an opportunity to adjust their tactics both offensively and defensively and it will be interesting to see how teams line up in the playoffs.
