This would have been the biggest upset in the 2025 NBL but as tbe saying goes, “almost doesn’t kill a bird”.
Nabisunsa came so close to defeating the KCCA Leopards having led by as many as 10 points in the fourth quarter but fell short, losing 62-64 in the end.
In the first 4 minutes of the second quarter, Nabisunsa was scoreless but they made 3 huge triples and some midrange jumpers to lead the game 29-28 at halftime.
Martha Bagaya hit consecutive threes for Nabisunsa to start the third quarter and just like that, the high school side was up by 6 points.
Mpoza Abigail then took over, scoring 10 points and during this time, things weren’t going well for the Leopards.
They were missed very many attempts and despite getting a lot of offensive rebounds, they didn’t score as manu second chance points.
To make matters worse, they also failed to convert from the free throw line.
The Leopards missed 8 of their 10 free throw attempts in the third quarter.
KCCA scored just 6 of their 25 attempts from the field while Nabisunsa scored 9 of 17 and they led the game 50-42 going into the fourth quarter.
Nabisunsa tried to hold off the Leopards as much as possible.
They led by 7 with 4:35 to go but as expected, they succumbed to pressure.
In the final 5 minutes of the game, Nabisunsa made 10 turnovers and just 3 field goal attempts.
This played in the hands of the Leopards who got more opportunities and ultimately utilized them.
Tracy Namugosa scored a huge 3 with about a minute left and that turned out to be the winner.
Nabisunsa has come so close in many games, like against UPDF and JKL but closing has always eluded them.

With this victory, the KCCA Leopards now have a 14-3 record and are on course for a top 2 finish.
They face the UPDF Lady Tomahawks next on Wednesday 2nd July at Abja Park.
Nabisunsa have a 4-12 record and any chance of making the playoffs have evanquished.
They will face the UCU Lady Canons next on Sunday 6th July at YMCA.
