After finishing with an 8-3 record in the first round, we thought that the KCCA Panthers would be challenging for the title.

However, their second round was a menace and they now find themselves in a situation where they have no control of their fate.

On Friday 18th, they had to defeat the Rezlife Saints in order to book their place but they lost, 79-59, and made the situation more difficult for themselves.

As things stand, the KCCA Panthers have a 12-10 record and are in a playoff spot.

However, they can miss out basing on points difference.

The City Oilers, Rezlife Saints, and Victoria Crocs can get a 12-10 record of they win all their remaining games.

In this case, 3 or 4 or possibly 5 teams could be tied and points difference will be used to determine who goes through.

The KCCA Panthers have the worst of all the teams and this scenario wouldn’t be ideal for them.

For now, they are praying for either City Oilers, Rezlife Saints or Victoria  Crocs to lose a game.

However, City Oilers face the JKL Dolphins, Rezlife take on JKL and Livingstone while Victoria Crocs face the KIU Titans and Livingstone.

It is very unlikely that any of those teams will lose a game and that will not be good news for the Panthers.

One other scenario is if the JT Jaguars lose all their remaining games.

The Jaguars face the Kampala Rockets, Sommet and KIU Titans.

Even that is higher unlikely but the KCCA Panthers still have hope of making it.

As things stand, they can no longer control anything.

They have left the situation in God’s hands and if they qualify, they might as well do a Thanksgiving.

If the Panthers fail to make it to the playoffs, they will be the biggest disappointment in the second round.
