The race to the 2025 NBL playoffs keeps getting tighter and more tense with each passing game.

Teams are doing whatever they can to make sure that they book their slots for the post season and it’s promising to be a dramatic conclusion to the regular season.

The JT Jaguars booked their place in the playoffs after their 56-55 victory against the Kampala Rockets.

They now have a 12-8 record and +115 goal difference.

The KCCA Panthers are the most intriguing team and are in so much trouble.

With their 12-10 record, they do not have any more games and their fat is not in their hands.

They have a 12-10 but a -11 goal difference and are only praying for either City Oilers, Rezlife Saints or Victoria Crocs to lose a game.

Rezlife Saints won their last game, 91-46, against Livingstone.

They need a victory in their final game against the JKL Dolphins in order to confirm their place in the post season.

The City Oilers have an 11-10 and can make the playoffs if they win their final game.

Their +176 points difference could put them in number 6 if they win against the JKL Dolphins.

Victoria Crocs need to win both their games to make it safely through.

They face Livingstone on July 23rd and the KIU Titans on Wednesday 6th August.

In case Victoria Crocs, City Oilers and Rezlife Saints win all their games, KCCA won’t make it to the post season.

If any of those teams lose, their chances of making the playoffs will become very narrow as they’d have to hope that another team falters and head to head is considered.

The race for the top 4 is tight but will most likely be decided on Friday when Sommet face the JT Jaguars.

If Sommet defeat the JT Jaguars, they will finish as the number 2 seed.

For the Jaguars to finish as number 2, they have to defeat Sommet by 8 or more and also get a win against the KIU Titans.

In case they lose one of their games, they will finish with a 13-9 record, tied with Kampala Rockets and UCU Canons.

However, due to their higher goal difference, they will finish as 3rd.

In case they lose both their games, they may have a similar record as that of City Oilers, Victoria Crocs, Rezlife Saints and KCCA Panthers.

The margins by which the lose and the margin by with the other teams win their games could be the  determinant on which position they finish in.
