The City Oilers secured their spot in the final 8 teams after their commanding 93-58 victory against the JKL Dolphins.

Coming into this game, there was a fear from the Oilers fans of their team not making it as JKL Dolphins had defeated them in round one.

The players were also under some pressure as they knew there was a possibility of faltering but they had confidence that they’d get the job done.

Fayed Baale came in hot for the first period.

He scored 14 points with 3/4 from the 3-point line.

The Oilers led the game 29-19 and you could tell how much they wanted it.

In the second quarter, everything was going well for the Oilers.

They made a 14-2 run to extend their lead to 17 points and they looked very much in control.

City Oilers had early foul trouble but the Dolphins did not capitalize. They attempted 12 free throws and missed 6 in the quarter.

By halftime, City Oilers led the game 53-35 and the grip on the victory was firm.

In the third quarter, it was all City Oilers.

JKL did not turn up. They kept making turnovers (6) and just couldn’t score.

Credit to the Oilers defense for making them uncomfortable and rewarding themselves.

At the end of the quarter, the defending Champions led 74-46 and surely, there was no way JKL would make a comeback.

City Oilers went on to win the game 93-58 and secured their place in the top 8.

The Oilers scored 36 of 75 from the field, and 48% FG is one of the highest registered this season.

After his impressive cameo in the game against the Namuwongo Blazers, Benjamin Kawumi went off in this one.

He finished with 19 points, made 4 of 6 from the 3-point line and had 7/11, 63% from the field.
