After their win against the KIU Titans, many thought that the Victoria Crocs would make the top eight but unfortunately, their fate had already been decided.

Whatever the outcome of the result, they were not going to make it to the playoffs and we shall got into the reason why.

Victoria Crocs has a 12-10 record, same as City Oilers, KCCA Panthers and the Rezlife Saints. Unfortunately, one of these teams was bound to miss out on the playoffs and classification was going to very interesting.

According to FIBA Rules

If 2 or more teams have the same win-loss record of all games in the group, the game(s) between these 2 or more teams shall decide on the classification.

What does this mean?

The games played among the four teams shall be considered first. In this case, the times when Victoria Crocs, KCCA Panthers, Rezlife Saints and City Oilers played each other.

As seen from the results above, Victoria Crocs performed worst when the four teams played each other and thus will miss out on the playoffs.

Following this criteria, KCCA Panthers shall finish as number 6, City Oilers as number 7 while Rezlife Saints will be the number 8 seed.

Where did Victoria Crocs drop the ball?

After the first round, the Victoria Crocs had a 6-5 record and were in the top teams. However, in the second round, they lost games which many thought they should have won.

The second round game against the UCU canons where Marvin Jesse Okurut scored a winner on the buzzer will be one of their regrets.

They were also unable to take care of business against the Rezlife Saints in the second round having lost 46-63. That will also be one of the moments they look back and regret.

Nonetheless, the competition has been great and despite missing out on the playoffs, they have a lot to be proud of.
