The Silverbacks woes at the Afrobasket have continued and could be a very long afternoon for them when they take on Mali on Thursday 14th.
Moni Jacksen who got an injury during the game against Senegal has been ruled out of the next game and it is not clear if he will be ready for the game against Egypt.
Jacksen had to be carried off the court and after the game, it was said that the injury was not as severe as first feared.
However, he will be out for this game and this means that Uganda will only have 9 players available.
The Silverbacks struggled offensively against Senegal scoring just 53 points and a field goal percentage of 31%.
Despite missing all his 6 attempts from the 3-point line, Moni scored 10 points and collected 5 rebounds which was a good outing compared to the rest of the team.
His scoring and size will surely be missed more so when you consider the fact that Mali has a lot of size advantage compared to Uganda.
In order to have a shot at winning this game, the Silverbacks will have to up their shooting particularly the 3-ball.
They scored just 2 in 22 attempts against Senegal and that is very low if you want to compete at this stage.
The rebounding is another thing that they will have to be critical about. Senegal (67) got 29 more rebounds than Uganda (38) and it’s as though the Silverbacks weren’t competing for rebounds.
Senegal picked 31 offensive boards and scored 24 second chance points. That is another thing that Uganda as to make sure they take care of is they are to win this game.
Uganda will be facing Mali today with the game tipping off at 16:30 EAT.
