It was a very dramatic and eventful game 3 that was decided in overtime with the Namuwongo Blazers winning 85-76 to complete the sweep and advance to the Finals.

Coming into the game, the Canons knew that their season was on the line and had to fight tooth and nail to ensure they secure a victory.

Ahead of the fourth quarter, Namuwongo led the game 58-51 but a lot changed soon.

The Canons went on an 11-0 run to take a 4-point lead after the first 5 minutes of the quarter.

Namuwongo stopped the bleeding and made a 7-0 mini run of their own to retake the lead.

With just a minute to play, Tonny Drleba untied the game after he drilled a huge 3-point shot.

However, the game was not done yet. Ekirapa scored 2 of 2 on the free throw line and shortly after, Daniel Muganzi went coast to coast to finish with a layup and hand UCU a 1-point lead.

On their next possession, Arthur Wanyoto was fouled but he made 1 of 2 free throws to send the game into overtime.

In the fourth quarter, it was a lot of turnovers, missed free throws and shots for the Canons and the Blazers punished them on the free-throw line with 10 of 18 free throws to win the game 85-76.

In the first half, the game was close and both teams had their moments. However, it the Canons who led the game 40-37.

The Canons made numerous mistakes in the third quarter and this is when they lost their grip on the game.

A lot of turnovers (10) cost them 10 points and these were gifts to the Blazers who then took control of the game.

The final minutes of the fourth quarter were very intense but the Blazers managed to secure the win in overtime.

The Namuwongo Blazers have gone back to the NBL finals a place they haven’t been since the 2022 season.

They will face the winner between Sommet and City Oilers but the latter lead the series 2-1.
