Game 4 of the 2025 NBL Men’s Semi-finals shall be taking place on the 24th of September. However, for the first time in this post season, Sommet find themselves on the back foot.

After that fourth quarter debacle in game 3 where Sommet scored just 4 points to City Oilers’ 25, the defending champions secured a crucial win to take a 2-1 lead in the series.

A lot of pressure is on Sommet to make sure they secure a victory and force game 5.

In all the 3 games that have been played so far, Sommet has led at the halftime break.

However, their second half performances haven’t been as good as the first.

In game 3, despite scoring 16 points and giving 7 assists, many people believe that Tembo should have done better.

A lot has been said and many describe his style as “ball hogging” when he is the primary ball handler.

To make matters worse, Andrew Ssendawula had an off day as nothing was going for him. unfortunately, Sommet did not have other options.

Those 2 will have to step up a lot if the team is to win game 4.

John Focus Teko made a lot turnovers and his decision to take shots instead of attacking/ causing havoc at the rim also cost the team a lot.

Nyembo appeared to be limping but the coach said that was just fatigue.

A lot went wrong for Sommet in game 3 but they have a chance to redeem themselves.

So much will have to go right for them in this game but defensively, they have to find solutions for Kurt Curry and Chad Bowie.

The 2 combined for 43 points in game 2 and 38 in game 3 but most importantly, the supporting cast has been working.

Moses Maker, Titus Lual, Fayed Baale, and Ben Komakech have all had big impacts. With the plethora of options available, the Oilers have been hard to stop throughout the 40 minutes.

Game 4 is a must win for Sommet if they are to extend their season.

Who steps up? Who becomes the hero? We shall know by 9:00 pm.

A couple of questions will be posed in game 4 but one stands out.

Can Chad and Kurt ‘curry’ the Oilers to the Finals on a cold Wednesday night at the YMCA?
