Ihoops advanced to the semi-finals of the 2025 FUBA Division One playoffs after defeating number two seed Miracle Eagles, 75-67, in a decisive game 3.
This game was supposed to have been played on Wednesday 22nd but had to be postponed a few hours to the game.
It was postponed to Saturday 25th but once again, it was not played.
The game was then put on Sunday 26th at Lugogo just before the NBL action and Ihoops managed to seal the victory.
In game 2, Ihoops had a chance to win the game but Anthony Gbiatiko missed 2 free throws at the end.
However, that was a long time ago and the mentality of the team was to go and win this one.
At the end of the first quarter, Miracle Eagles led the game 18-16.
However, they had trailed by 7 but managed to end the quarter with a 9-0 run.
In the second quarter, it was all Ihoops on offense.
They scored 25 points while Miracle Eagles had just 12.
Miracle scored just 3 field goals in the quarter and missed 5 of their 10 attempted free throws.
At the halftime break, Ihoops led thr game 41-30 and everything was going well for them.
The third quarter was very frustrating for Ihoops.
They made multiple turnovers (10) and the Eagles managed to score 10 points from turnovers.
This hleped Miracle cut the deficit to 6 points as the fourth quarter approached.
The turnovers problem did not go away. On the first possessions in the fourth quarter, Ihoops gave away the possession and Miracle punished them.
They went to make another about a minute after and before long, Miracle Eagles had tied the game.
As the game progressed, Guot Ayung had a tremendous impact. He kept picking those rebounds and attracting some fouls.
Waleed Omar also scored valuable points including a crucial 3-point shot.
For the Miracle Eagles, they kept trying to shoot from the 3-point line but nothing was connecting.
7 of the last 10 attempts by the Miracle Eagles were from the 3-point line.
Only one of those went in while 2 of the 3, 2-point attempts went in.
As a result, Ihoops managed to hold off Miracle to win the game 75-67.
