Team Uganda that is set to represent at the Africa Youth Games in Luanda, Angola set off in the wee hours of Monday and has already settled in.
Uganda will be represented in 5 sporting disciplines including, Swimming, Table Tennis, 3×3 Basketball, Breakdance and Athletics.
In swimming, Mary Suubi and Abner Isaiah will be looked at keenly with hopes of securing medals.
World’s number one (U12) Joseph Sebatindira will be a huge medal hopeful and together with Jemima Nakiwala, will be representing in Table Tennis.

George Ntulume will represent in Break dance while Athletics will be represented by Risper Chekwemboi, Keren Chelimo, Baskaline Cherotwo, and Kizito Loput.
In 3×3 Basketball, 4 players who were apart of the Junior Gazelles team at the U16 Afrobasket Qualifiers were selected.

These include Apio Marion, Anena Jovia, Brandina Kyalimpa, and Mwesigwa Shivan.
The four have been training for about 3 weeks and will join the rest of the team on 14th December.
3×3 Basketball will start on 17th and end on the 19th of December.
Uganda is in pool D with Gabon and Cote d’Ivoire and the top 2 teams will be advancing to the quarter finals.
The last time Uganda fielded youth teams at a 3×3 event in 2023, they made history as they qualified for the U17 World Cup.
