Youngster Edrine Ekau has had a very comfortable start to his life in the National Basketball League. After dropping 21 points in his season opener against UPDF, some doubted whether he could top that performance but he did so in the next game against the KCCA Panthers.

Ekau scored a game-high 24 points including an unbelievable triple step back three that many consider the game winner.

Coming into this game, the Rezlife Saints had won their opening game of the season with a 20-point margin. On the other hand, the KCCA Panthers had lost their season opener against the JT Jaguars but had returned to winning ways the day before after edging the newly promoted UPDF Tomahawks.

The KCCA Panthers scored just 3 points in the first 7 minutes of the game but they scored some late baskets and led the game 10-9 after the first period.

In the second quarter, Rezlife made a bit of separation. They outscored the 20-13 Panthers to lead the game 29-23 at the halftime break.

Rezlife made a lot of work defensively and this helped them generate offense. They forced KCCA into 8 turnovers in the second quarter alone.

The third quarter was a bit similar to the second and Rezlife took an 11-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.

The KCCA Panthers did not give up the fight and kept going in the fourth. They cut the deficit to 5 points halfway through the quarter but every time they seemed close, Rezlife scored to extend the lead.

With just over a minute to play, Edrine Ekau made a very tough triple step back three to give rezlife a 10-point lead and this put the game out of reach for KCCA.

The Rezlife Saints managed to win the game 68-60 to make it 2 wins in a row.
